A Board of Trustees Election will be held on March 15, 2022

Why is it important to vote?

Why is it Important to Vote?
1. Most local elections are decided by only a small number of votes, so your vote really counts!
2. Local government controls things that affect your everyday life – development, parking, roads, libraries, police departments, parks and open spaces and property taxes!
3. Voting gives you a say in how your tax dollars are spent!
4. Not voting means bowing to the wishes of those who do vote!

Sustainable Port Chester Alliance believes voting should be social, communal and celebrated. The next Board of Trustees election in Port Chester, NY is Tuesday, March 15, 2022 and it’s more important than ever to go to the polls and vote for community and social-minded candidates.  We need leaders who not only understand the issues facing Port Chester’s residents, but who will also be willing to make the hard decisions to transform ideas into action, to build a community welcoming to all PC residents.

The Alliance cares about good jobs, affordable housing and rents, and preserving the character of the Village.  We believe that the currently planned development threatens the very character of the Village and its visitor economy.  Thus, 2022 represents a potential tipping point in the history of Port Chester.  If we do not elect enough Trustees to modify the Form-Based Code, then the Village will soon have a skyline, rents will rise, residents and local workers will have to move away and commute back to their jobs here.

The Alliance strongly encourage you to vote on March 15, 2022.  Make your voting plans now, contact your family and friends to encourage them to vote and offer a ride to a neighbor to get them to the polls. You can make positive change happen, change we so desperately need in Port Chester!
